There’s no such thing as too much racing ornament

I have canceled my TG travel plans. That also means missing the memorial service for a family member and getting to spend time with other family members prior to the service. I am mourning our losses, not the least of which is some quality time together to grieve, but I know with 100% certainty that I am making the responsible choice.

It’s the only decision that takes into account the wellbeing not only of me and my immediate family, but also of my coworkers (yes, we wear masks all of the time, but must work in close proximity due to the nature of our jobs) and their families. Any other decision is selfish. And that may still be an ok decision for others, because their priorities are different than mine, but my priority will always be to care for others first.

A heartfelt thank you from this essential worker! It makes doing what we do feel appreciated and supported.We also cancelled our plans to fly to Portland, OR to see our daughter and son-in-law, their new house, and to meet our new granddog. I was so sad I went to the jetty and sat there and cried for an hour. It will be a year since I’ve seen them (in person). But, at least I’ll be here close to my parents and other daughter and SIL. This view did make me feel better after awhile.
