He kept calm and so was able to free the bird without injuring it or injuring himself. He’s a hero. What a wonderful thing you did. Poor thing must have been scared and thought it was going to die until you came along.??

There must be a wildlife center you could bring him to that has a hospital to help him. He might look okay, but there’s no way he is all intact. Not your fault but he needs medical attention. This hawk most likely won’t survive, if the woman was really going as fast as she says she was. I was a wildlife carer in Sydney for a few years and it was common to get birds hit by cars, which took days to die from a head injury. Just the other day we had a cockatoo on our property, hanging around in the same spot all day. Hopping onto the ground then back onto the fence. In the afternoon we went over to it and it couldn’t fly away. I got it to stand on a branch and so moved it to our tree house for safety. But it had a broken beak that was bleeding, and it died that same day. You just never know with head injuries. This cockatoo was most likely hit by a car. I buried him under the tree where he took his last breath. Poor things.
