Myself and dog walking friends figure that because we walk in open fields, we can continue to do so even if self isolating. Is there any reason against this? (Unless you are too unwell of course.No, of course not, the advice above talks about gardens! Which, yes, is outdoors but I guess more contained than just a general stroll round the park.

We have been told now to self isolate for 7 days if you have any signs of a respiratory illness. The theory being that if it is Coronavirus you will recover and stop shedding in that time if you are already symptomatic. As far as I understand it, the 14 days is to allow signs of the virus to appear and then for it to subside.Self isolation does not require you not to leave your home. You can bring you dog for a walk. Self isolation is about not interacting with or sharing the same airspace with people you dont live with.
You should not meet your friends to walk dogs together but should only go with someone else from your home or alone. You should remain 2M from others while out for your walk.
