We were in Lucca in late February, planning a day in Florence to go see David. When I checked the museum website I learned it was closed until further notice because of COVID-19. A few years ago someone told me they went to Florence and did not get to see the David because she was with friends and they planned the day with their family. I told her she should have excused herself and gone alone and they probably would have understood. The woman was 85 years old and probably would not get back to Florence again. I went two years ago and it was quite an experience. Love how the David is displayed and you are able to walk around it or sit and admire the work. Hope to go again.
