People are so conditioned to shitty movies that when something mildly entertaining comes out, its looked at like some masterpiece. This movie was highly overrated. Shock and awe with fancy packaging to look deeper than what it is. The excitement over this movie reminds me of that Eddie Murphy joke about ritz crackers and saltines.

Actual work came out of Hollywood instead of a remake or a sequal. They took a popular trend and actually wrote creatively. The best part is that they weren’t trying to make a comic book movie. Maybe that’s why it was so good. Very few actors could pull off the intensity and depth of character needed to tell this story. Masterful acting..the emotional and physical sufferance that pheonix went through…only a handful of people are successful in their acting careers at achieving this.
