Thank you for writing what I couldn’t put into words. I feel the same way for my special kiddo.I want to see my students! It’s hard enough getting through when 4 ft apart! Open the schools!! Open the country! 80,000 deaths from the flu last year and there is a vaccine! 120,000 deaths from Corona and there’s no vaccine!

We have one with a heart condition and one without. I worry that they will say keep your kid home if they have an underlying condition. What do I do then? Keep her home and say kids can’t just not go to school so you can feel included? (that was what one teacher said to me) And what about the kids who don’t know about their underlying conditions…yet? And if they only go two days a week and stay with grandma the other days…what about her?
I just can not see the elementary school teachers being able to enforce distancing enough to protect them. Kids, parents, grandparents will die if they don’t do this right…and I’m sure they won’t be back a week before there are videos of kids and teachers hugging and all sorts of other violations of the “new rules”….such a mess. I vote for another real lock down and masks until it is safe. If we did it now we would still be able to go back…but freedom, you know!
